Paulo do Vale
       jewel creation

The black basalt that hugs us since the origin of everything in the Azores is a source of inspiration for the creations of the silversmith.
The volcanic rock, soil where we walk and that connects us to the sea, enriched with gold or worked silver, is fit in pretty and precious jewels made from the hand of the creator Paulo do Vale. The colors, brightness and textures of the basalt confer to these pieces an arrojo proper of the most modern creations formed for the most laborious talent.
At the same time, the simplicity of the work makes that these contemporarie jewels can be used as an accessory or complement for the day.
When combining this natural element, simple but powerful, and, above all, genuine and Portuguese, Paulo do Vale show's through the artistic creations a little of his way of being and his piece of mother land in the middle of the Atlantic.

Paulo do Vale formed itself in Porto in goldsmithery and is, for excellence, a silversmith craftsman. He is also an appraiser and official assayer of Casa da Moeda and a caretaker of the treasure of Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres, one of the biggest religious treasures of Europe.
